Biafra: Nigeria in danger –Ohanaeze youths

Biafra: Nigeria in danger –Ohanaeze youths

By Willy Eya

A group, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) Worldwide, has raised the alarm that Nigeria is on a dangerous slide following clampdown on Biafran agitators.
In a statement signed by President General Francis Oji, among others, the group condemned the alleged December 2 massacre of Biafran agitators by the military for blocking the Niger Bridge Head
Oji said the action, to him, was merely a loud statement calling for dialogue with the central government.
Oji regretted the development, adding that protests involving roadblocks had been staged in Lagos, Ibadan, Ilorin, Abuja axis and they were greeted with negotiations.
He reasoned that agitations by those clamouring for a Biafran State should not be different.
The OYC said Biafra agitators have long warned about the plot by government agents to infiltrate their ranks and foment trouble thereby misrepresenting non-violent Biafra agitators as terrorists.
His words: “We call upon the Federal Government to show high level of maturity and observance of the rule of law in dealing withpeaceful Biafra agitators, listen to their genuine quests and agitations for dialogue that are practically the same as to peaceful resolutions.

“We call upon the Federal Government to toe the path of truth, peace and honesty in tackling insecurity and the unstable political regime facing Nigeria by first opting to dialogue with Biafran agitators and unconditionally, release leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of the Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Biafra Zionist Movement, Mr. Ben Onwuka and other detained Biafra agitators as a starting point in securing peace and trust which may lead to peaceful resolution of the present political logjam and impasse…”
